The Printed Word

Multimedia Installation for HarperCollins Publishers—Retail & Event Space at South Street Seaport

Part of the 200th Anniversary of HarperCollins Publishers, a site-specific installation, celebrated the printed word’s revolutionary ability to transport masses to infinite worlds. Personal quotes from HarperCollins’ range of notable authors—including Charles Bukowski, Paulo Coehlo, Neil Gaiman, Milan Kundera, Herman Melville, Zora Neale Hurston, Patti Smith—were hand-typed on a vintage typewriter, then reproduced and folded into hundred of paper airplanes as well as projected on a loop within a dedicated retail/gallery/event space at South Street Seaport in New York City.
